After ten days of fierce chess clashes the curtains have been lowered at the 25th European Youth Chess Championships in Porec. Competitors from 41 European countries, 838 of them in groups of up to 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years of age, in the men’s and women’s competitions respectively, were deciding on who will win the medals. The use of all personal electronic devices (laptop, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) is strictly forbidden in the Zatika hall. The devices have to be be turned off before entering. Those who are caught using the mentioned devices will be stripped of their accreditation and will be forbidden from entering the hall until end of the competition.

The best young European chess players in Porec. The best young European chess players from 42 countries have gathered these days in Porec, where, in the “Zatika” Sports Centre, the 25th European Youth Chess Championship is being held. The championship is attended by 841 competitors (boys and girls) in six age groups, from 8 to 18 years of age. 640 trainers and professional staff are accompanying them, and due to the age of the competitors, the youngest chess players are also accompanied by their parents.
