Winners announced at the Closing Ceremony of the 25th European Youth Chess Championships in Porec

After ten days of fierce chess clashes the curtains have been lowered at the 25th European Youth Chess Championships in Porec. Competitors from 41 European countries, 838 of them in groups of up to 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years of age, in the men’s and women’s competitions respectively, were deciding on who will win the medals. After 10 days of hope, fear, sadness and joy, at the closing ceremony, the best were awarded medals and special gifts in the form of laptop computers, tablets, chess sets, chess software and books. The results of FIDE Trainers’ Seminar for FIDE Trainers’ Titles that was held in Porec, Croatia, from September 24th to 27th, 2015. The objective of the seminar is to educate and certify Chess Trainers and Chess-Teachers on an international basis. This type of seminar is regulated by FIDE and one of the conditions for the acquisition of international trainers’ titles. Participation in the seminar is one of the recognized (mandatory) conditions for the possible acquisition of one of these titles: FIDE Trainer (FT), FIDE Instructor (FI), National Instructor (NI) and Development Instructor (DI). I have been present at the European Youth Chess Championships for 15 years, in the role of trainer and other functions. I must tell you that until now the best organized European Youth Chess Championship was held in Sibenik in 2007. There, the Croatian Chess Federation provided great accommodation, excellent food and good playing conditions, but here in Porec, everything is at an even higher level.
