A statement by Sergey Yanovskiy about the organisation of the 25th European Youth Chess Championship in Porec
We asked the Chief Coach of the Russian Chess Federation Sergey Yanovskiy to give us his opinion about the organisation of the 25th European Youth Chess Championship in Porec. Russian delegation is the biggest at this European Youth Chess Championship, 107 players and more than 200 person total.
And we are glad that we took part in this championship because it’s one of the best youth tournaments which was held in past 20 years. Wonderful nature, warm sea, comfortable hotels with tasty meals, large tournament hall, everything contributes to excellent impressions of the children, players and their accompanying persons. I think that the only problem was the bus transport in the first day of the tournament, but then the second round the situation improved.
And I want to specially mark the warm and frendly attention of the organising team and arbiters. They did their best to solve any arising problems and tried that every guest of the tournament feel comfortable.
After the discussion with other delegations we come to the opinion that Croatia ensured high level of the Championship organisation and we’ll suport the idea of hosting new chess tournaments here.
